Jungle safari is one of the popular tourist activities in Nepal. Many endangered wild species are preserved in protected in the southern plains of Nepal. Chitwan National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site known throughout the world for the healthy population of one-horned rhino and Royal Bengal tiger. More than 600 one-horned rhinos roam freely in the national park and its buffer zone. Forests in the national park are predominantly covered by Sal trees. However, chir pine can be found in southern face of Churiya hills. Tarai-Duar savanna and grasslands cover about 20 percent of the park's area. More than 50 species of grass are found in the national park including some of the tallest grasses in the world like the elephant grass called Saccharum ravennae, Giant cane and Khagra reed. These dense forests and grasslands provide the perfect habitat for over 700 species of wildlife. Seventeen species of snakes, starred tortoise and monitor lizards have also been recorded in the national park. Similarly,mugger and Ghariyal crocodiles and 113 species of fish can be seen in the Narayani- Rapti river system that borders the national park. Our representative will pick you at the Sauraha bus stop and escort you to your lodge. You are offered welcome drink then transferred to your room. After lunch, you will enjoy village tour and a visit to the Elephant Breeding Center. Dinner will be served after you return to your lodge. Then you will be escorted to a community hall to enjoy Tharu cultural program.
Day 02: Jungle activities will resume after you enjoy breakfast at the lodge. You will be drive to the bank of the Budhi Rapti River for an adventurous canoe ride. You can see mugger and Gharial crocodiles basking in the sun as your canoe flow downwards. Canoe ride is also the best way to see different bird species of the national park.Once the canoe ride ends, you will return to the lodge enjoying jungle walk on the guidance of our expert nature guide. After lunch, you will enjoy elephant safari in the nearby forest. You can see different wild species like deer, bear, monkeys and different species of birds as well as the one- horned rhino and Royal Bengal Tiger if you are lucky. Dinner will e served after you return to the lodge.
Day 03: After breakfast, our nature guide will take you on a bird watching trip. Record as many bird species as you can with the assistance of our nature guide. After you return to the lodge, our car will transfer you to the bus station for your return journey.
