Overview:

 

This special package offers you the easy Yatra of the Mount   Kailash — the abode of Lord Shiva — and the holy Mansarovar Lake. This package is best for those who cannot take the   ordeal of   driving   the jeep track to   Nepal-China border. Also, it combines Lhasa City — the capital of the mystical Tibet. The Yatra begins with arrival to Kathmandu and offering of worship at the Pashupatinath Temple. Then you will fly to Lhasa and then   drive to the foot of    Mount Kailash from where three-day Parikrama of the Mount Kailash begins.

 

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Lhasa

 

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu.

 

Welcome to Nepal. Our representative will be at the airport to receive you and transfer you to your hotel. In the evening, our representative will make Yatra briefing at your hotel and check your equipment. O/N: Hotel.

Day 2: Visit of Pashupatinath and Guheshwari; Yatra preparation.

 

Today, you will visit important Hindu temples in Kathmandu as we take care of your permits.Our day begins with a visit to Pashupatinath and Guheshwari temples.   Pashupatinath is one of    the most important Hindu shrines in the world, and a major deity    of Nepal. The main pagoda temple   dedicated to Lord Shiva sits on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. There are temple of different other gods and goddesses on the temple premises. After offering worship to Lord Shiva, you will visit Guheshwari Temple. The temple is dedicated to goddess Satidevi – the consort of Lord Shiva. Various Tantric rituals are performed in this temple. Then you will return to hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, prepare for the Yatra. O/N: Hotel.

Day 3: Fly to Lhasa.

 

You will be flying to Tibet today for the Yatra. Our representative will drive you to Kathmandu airport three hours before your scheduled flight. The flight takes around 1 hours 45 minutes. It is a trans-Himalayan flight, allowing you opportunities to catch glimpse of high Himalayan peaks. Upon arrival in Lhasa, our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Remaining time is free for independent activities. O/N: Hotel.

Day 4: Lhasa sightseeing.

 

You will enjoy sightseeing of major attractions in Lhasa today. This is needed also to acclimatize to higher altitude.  We will visit attractions like Potala Palace, Jokhang temple and Barkhor Street. Potala Palace is the main landmark   of Lhasa. It used to be the    residence of the   Dalai Lama. The palace consists of more than 1,000 rooms. Similarly, Jokhang Temple is the main spiritual center of Tibet. The outer courtyard and porch of the temple are usually filled with pilgrims making full-length prostration toward the holy sanctum. Its innermost part of the temple contains the oldest gold stature of Sakyamuni Buddha. This four story temple was built in the 10th century. We then visit Barkhor Street. The street circles the Jokhang Temple and is a popular   pilgrimage circuit. Almost    all Tibetan products are available here. You walk with monks as well as other men and women as they circumambulate the Jokhang temple. The Barkhor streets gives an insight into the colorful and vibrant Tibetan life. O/N: Hotel.

Day 5: Drive to Shigatse.

 

Today, you will enjoy a scenic drive to Shigatse. The drive takes around 7 hours. Between the villages and streams, you can see farmers working their fields and the hills dotted by yak and sheep. The road  passes by the beautiful   Yamdrok Lake. Shitagse is the second largest city in Tibet. It is a modern city with heavy   traffic. Upon   your arrival in Shigatse, check into your hotel. A visit to a local monastery can be arranged if you are interested. O/N: Hotel/Guesthouse.

Day 6: Drive to Saga.

 

Our Yatra continues today with a drive to Saga. The drive takes around 6-7 hours. Saga is a comparatively small town located   at an   altitude of 4,800 meters   above sea level. You   will cross the   Brahmaputra River today, which flows through India's Arunanchal, Meghalaya and Assam states, and then to Balgadeshi before draining into the Bay of Bengal. It is the largest town of before Kailash and Mansarovar.   We get first view of   Mount Kailash   on this day. O/N: Hotel/Guesthouse.

Day 7: Drive to Mansarovar.

 

Today, you will drive to Lake Mansarovar. This section of the route is one of the most beautiful parts of the drive. One can enjoy stunning scenery, exotic   landscape of the   high Himalayan   plateau, and view of the   Himalayas. Our parikrama will begin once we reach the lake. O/N: Guesthouse.

Day 8: Morning Hawan Pooja; and drive to Darchen in the afternoon.

 

Morning is free time for you to perform Hawan and Pooja on the banks of the Lake Mansarovar. mAfter the Pooja and lunch, we will drive   toward   Darchen.   Darchen is the   gateway to Mount Kailash.    We take ample rest today as our Kailash Parikrama will begin from tomorrow. O/N: Guesthouse.

Day 9: Drive to Yama Dwar and trek to Deraphuk.

 

We continue our drive to Yama Dwar from where our Parikrama begins. We start walking from Yama Dwar toward Deraphuk. The distance is about 10 kilometers and the trail is generally flat and easy. You will walk enjoying the rugged Tibetan landscape. O/N: Guesthouse.

Day 10: Trek to Dolma La Pass (5560m); and continue to Zhuthulpuk.

 

This is going to be a long and difficult day as you will be crossing a high pass Dolma La (5630m). Dolma Pass is the ultimate point of this Yatra. We start the journey as early as possible as the weather can change in the second half of the day. This day, we can have darshan of Gaurikunda. But the way down the lake is very difficult. Upon arrival in Zuthulphuk, we check into our guest hose. O/N: Guesthouse.

Day 11: Trek to Zhongdo and drive to Saga.

 

We resume our walk after breakfast. Today also, we continue our trek till Zhongdo where our Yatra ends successfully. At Zhongdo, we board our waiting vehicle and start driving toward Saga. It is a beautiful drive and as we will be descending to lower altitude, we will feel much easier and comfortable. O/N: Hotel.

Day 11: Drive to Shigatse.

 

We continue driving toward Shigatse today — a drive of around 500 kilometers. But the journey will be comfortable   as the road is in good shape. It takes around 6-7 hours. The drive offers you the opportunity to explore the wild and beautiful countryside.   The view of   the arid   landscape in the   Tibetan plateau is simply   amazing. Upon arrival in Shigtatse, we will transfer you to your hotel. O/N: Hotel.

Day 12: Drive to Lhasa.

 

Your driving resumes after breakfast. Today, you will cross two high passes – one of 4,500 meters and other of some 4,700 meters. The drive also offers us view   of Kharola Glacier   and Yamdrok   Lake, among others. Upon arrival in Lhasa, get transferred to your hotel. O/N: Hotel.

Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu.

 

Your last day in Tibet! After breakfast, you can do some shopping for your friends and families back home. Our representative will drive you to the airport for your return flight to Kathmandu. Enjoy the short flight back to Kathmandu. Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. Remaining time is free for independent activities.

Day 14: Departure.

 

You will be returning to your home today after the successful Kailash-Mansarovar Parikrama. Our representative will transfer you to the airport three hours before your   flight time   so that   you dont have to rush through customs and immigration formalities.
